A
Registrar or a Deputy Registrar acquainting the consign-
-ee of the fact that the sum to be remitted had been
forwarded by Money Order through the Post Office would
be directed to the consignee; auch letter would be pre-
-pared by Mr. Alim Khan and the only immediate check on his operations would appear to have been the presumed \ presence, in the Registry File, of the Post Office
receipt and at a later date the receipt of a letter from the consignee acknowledging the remittance. In this case Mr. Alim Khan states that he followed what was the
usual course of procedure; namely, that, having received the money from the Bank he proceeded to the Post Office where he found at the Money Order Counter, the clerk
Muhamed Akbar; that he then, at the request of Muhamed Akbar, made out two applications for money orders split- -ing the amount of 8213.93 into two separate portions, one of $100 and the other of $113.93. Mr. Alim Khan
states that he had, at the request of Muhamed Akbar, similarly split sume for transmission prior to this occasion, but that he did not know for what reason Muhamed Akbar required this division of the amount to be transmitted; that he duly received two receipts from Muhamed Akbar and that, having received them, he returne to the Registry where he filed them with the dossier of papers relating to the estate and that the letter to the Hoshiarpur Commissioner was forwarded in the usual course of procedure; that with regard to what is alleged to have taken place subsequently he knows nothing at all. Muhamed Akbar's account is totally different; he states that Hr. Alim Khan came to the Post Office on the 14th. June, 1913, and made an application for the trans- -mission by Money Order to the Deputy Commissioner of Hoshiarpur of 8100; that Mr. Alim Khan did not come in April at all; and that his story of the splitting of the amount of $213.93 into two portions is not true. Mr.
